M.S.B. Somms & Vineyards Blanca White Wine with Aging

Blanca is a young white wine elaborated in Gandesa, in the Designation of Origin Terra Alta which has become increasingly known for their outstanding white wines made out of the grape variety White Grenache, also called “Vernatxa”.

This wine is created with the collaboration of the winemaker Joan Angel Liberia, one of the most experienced and reputed connoisseur in the area, elaborating a total number of 998 bottles.

After a hand-picked selected harvest, the grapes are stored in small boxes and cooled down to 0º-5º at the sorting table to make sure that only those grapes with the right polyphenolic ripeness find their way into the vats. There, a controlled alcoholic fermentation happens and the wine is stabilised before it is moved the into French oak barrels to be bottled.

Blanca is honesty bottled. A white wine aged for only 4 months in second year french oak barrels, to pursue the purity of the variety coming from vineyards that are over 40 years of age, planted in “panal” and “tapàs” soils.

Dry, fresh and with intense aromas and flavours of pear & melon, a flowery background, mineral sensations and a persistent aftertaste, Blanca expresses  the most fresh side of the grape while it is perfectly balanced with the complexity of the oak.
