The idea behind Vindemia stems from the will to gather Wine lovers and professionals around a table, to live unique experiences together through unique and exclusive wine tasting and wine pairing events provided by connoisseurs and specialists in this sector around Amsterdam.
Our wines come from a fine selection across the European territory. We try to give voice to large and small wine producers, as we do want them to tell their history, their sacrifices and the passion they put to give life to their bottles: we think there’s nothing more beautiful than sharing such a story and enjoying delicious food on the way.
This is what Vindemia is about.
I was born in Sicily, and the Sicily I like to recall it as the country of hospitality, which is built on hard work and the struggles of people.
I like to think of myself, Salvatore (but friends call me “Sasa’”) as a charismatic person, who proudly embodies all those traditional and genuine values of my region, with a twist.
My journey from Sicily to the Netherlands has been an incredible one, dispelled by multiple challenges, and it’s still an ongoing adventure, 7 years after my departure. As for today, with 15 years of experience in the Restaurant business on my shoulders, I consider myself as a lucky person who did not stop loving this job and the effort it takes. If I know something, it’s that you never stop learning and growing up, and if you have fun while you do it, so be it.
Here in the Netherlands, I managed to transform that passion into a profession, thanks to my educational attainments: I am now a certified WSET Sommelier, and the expertise I have gained has been enriched by my working experiences as Manager for many businesses around Amsterdam.
